2017 GMC Acadia: Better than Ever

It’s true, the previous GMC Acadia was a real looker, loaded with features and was great to drive. However, it seems GM’s kicked it up a few notches and the all-new Acadia not only looks leagues better, but it also features a host of new technology that will ensure this latest crossover from the American automaker creates some serious waves in the segment.

Ready to beat its Predecessor

Right off the bat, one of the Acadia’s best features is the fact that it is perfectly positioned between the compact Terrain and the full-size Yukon. The 2017 Acadia truly is the ideal blend between the two offering a more compact size with generous interior spacing with seating available for five, six or seven passengers depending on model selected.

Along with a large interior living space, the GMC Acadia also offers split-folding second-row seating, allowing for easier cargo storage. The passenger-side second row seat can also slide forward even with a forward-facing child seat installed – another ideal feature for small families. Finally, the rear seats offer a 50/50 split and can even fold completely flat for a total of 2,237 litres of cargo space. There are also levers in the rear so owners can fold both the third and second rows from the back of the car -- practical a la max.

While the interior space and configurable seating is impressive, it’s not the only thing the 2017 Acadia has going for it. There’s also a new 2.5L engine (standard) and an all-new available 3.6L V6 as another powertrain option with an estimated 310 horsepower that allows for a 4,000lb towing capability. Both engines are paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, and both FWD and AWD drivetrains are available.

Young families on the go often have more than just interior space and good road manners on the brain, they also think a great deal about safety, which is why GM has outfitted this latest Acadia with a host of passive and active features to keep everyone on board safe. Available forward automatic braking, forward collision alert, surround vision camera system, pedestrian braking, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, and lane change alert with side blind zone alert, as well as front and rear parking assist are all there in the 2017 GMC Acadia to keep you and your family safe on any and all journeys you decide to take in your stylish new crossover.

The 2017 Acadia also features a number of improved interior amenities. One of the most intriguing and perhaps most ingenious is a brand new (and standard on all models) rear seat alert that reminds the driver if something has accidentally been left in the second- or third-row seats

Versatile for All of Your Needs

The 2017 GMC Acadia offers up gobs of flexibility for young families on the go, and this newly designed and upgraded crossover is set to take on the hotly contested segment and win top spot.
