2016 GMC Sierra 1500: Tough as Nails

If anyone’s got the pickup truck market cornered, it’s the Americans. There’s really no denying that at all. And there’s also no denying that one of the most attractive and capable pickups currently available on the market is the 2016 GMC Sierra 1500. Big, bold and highly capable, the Sierra is about so much more than just good looks. It’s built to take on the toughest jobs, and take them on with ease.

Make Your Sierra the Way You Want It

The beauty of pickup trucks is the ability to customize and personalize your vehicle to your needs and wants. You can make your 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 yours and yours alone for whatever your needs may be: daily diver? Done. Workhorse on a job site for towing and hauling? No problem. Towing weekend toys to the cottage and back? It can do that too. There’s no need the GMC Sierra 1500 can’t answer, and that’s mostly due to the fact that three “base” models are available to choose from on which you can build your ideal final product.  These well-equipped models also offer a bevy of cab and drivetrain options to choose from.

The 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 offers up four available engines to choose from: an EcoTec3 4.3L V6 with FlexFuel capabilities that produces 285 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque (standard on Sierra and SLE); an EcoTec3 5.3L V8 with either Active Fuel Management or FlexFuel (optional on Sierra and SLE models, standard on SLT) that produces 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. A 5.3L V8 FlexFuel mill is optional across the board. At the top of the performance chart sits an EcoTec3 6.2L V8 with Active Fuel Management and 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, which is only available as an option on SLT models.

Setting up your 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 just the way you want is even more feasible with available trailering packages, transfer case options, and a choice between two transmissions (6-speed automatic or 8-speed automatic) that offer two overdrive gears along with tow/haul modes for all your work and/or adventures.

Family Vehicle, Workhorse, Weekend Warrior -- the 1500 Does it All

Box sizes on the GMC Sierra 1500 range from Regular to Standard to Long Box, and  the cab can be optioned as a two-door set up, Crew Cab or Double Cab. Truly, you can make this pickup uniquely yours.

Just because you opted to buy a hardworking pickup doesn’t mean it can’t be a comfortable daily driver at the same time. Available satellite radio, USB ports, Bluetooth, and optional leather seating with heated and cooled seating up front bring the GMC Sierra 1500 into car-like amenities and comfort and mean this really can be your family vehicle as much as it is your work vehicle. The 2016 GMC Sierra also features a host of safety features such as lane departure warning, forward collision alert, and front/rear park assist features, along with OnStar.
